Antiques and second hand Markets are held in neighbouring Verteillac on the first Sunday of every month throughout the year.
Situated in the heart of the medieval bourg the lovely, recently renovated XII century Church of Saint Eutrope is listed as a Monument Historique. No longer a place of regular worship, the church still welcomes visitors and sometimes hosts concerts. The adjacent château has elements dating from 1212 and is now in private hands.
Situated less than 15km away and listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, this pretty hillside village perched above the River Dronne has welcomed pilgrims en route to Santiago de Compostella for over 1000 years. With its pretty square surrounded by bars, restaurants and shops, stunning underground church and summer beach, canoeing centre, campsite, tennis and football clubs it is a great place for all the family.

We are located less than 1 hour from Angouleme station (with 8 high speed services to Paris daily, onward Eurostar connections to Kent, London and beyond and great onsite car hire available all year round), 1hr15 from Bergerac airport and 1hr30 from Bordeaux airport: Le Coustal is set in 16 acres of parkland and woods on the Dordogne/Charentes border in South West France and has plenty of free private parking.
The nearby market town of Riberac with its excellent year round Friday market has all local amenities including a good choice of restaurants and shops as well as LeCLerc and Intermarché superstores with petrol stations.
Saint Severin is a 5 minute drive away; here you will find our favourite bakery, Spar supermarket with excellent in-store butcher, Pharmacy, post office, tabac, hairdressers, English cafe and bookshop, bars and bank/cash-point.
Five minutes in the other direction, Verteillac, home of the region's largest brocante (second-hand fair) on the first Sunday of every month, has a bank/cash-point, bakery, several good French/English restaurants, post office and butcher as well as the legendary Merlaud supermarket/hardware/furniture store .
